Saturday, Jan. 23
It's been a great week. sparkpeople.com has offered some new fresh ideas and direction. I have stuck with the fruits and veggies daily, limited sweets (again work is a problem), and daily exercise. Not up to where I was a year and a half ago but at least it's regular. This next week I add to the minutes for exercise and number of fruits and veggies. Also, the PT is helping with the pain in my neck so that is encouraging too. As I look outside it's raining! Weather this winter has been so bazarre!

Monday, Jan. 18th
I've been off for a few days as I couldn't figure out how to get back onto my own blog! Boy! Do I need a teenager in my life. Anyway, things are looking good this week. My plan is to eat 2 vegetables and 2 fruits, and walk 10 minutes daily this week...sounds pretty lame but it will work for me. Also trying to add more water. I'm motivated by the melting snow!

Wed. Jan. 13th
The website should be www.sparkpeople.com I like what all it offers for free. Bad day...at work and home with a bad case of acid reflux to boot. Too tired to write any more.

Didn't mention that I made the best salsa to put on chicken this week. It's a Paula Dean recipe and we love it. Low fat. Also made the famous Albany's Depot carrot salad with shrimp. Low fat also. A friend gave me a great website to checkout: www.sparklepeople.com
I love the title and guess it provides us with lots of diets, exercise, and even shopping tips. And it's free!

Monday, Jan. 11
Linda made her famous brownies for work today. I had a small one...I know eating sweets at work is my downfall. Guess the treadmill will be extra time today. Darn Packers! Oh well another year with our young guys.

Sunday, Jan. 10
Football games to watch and I am making healthy snacks for the week. Didn't stay for coffee and snacks after church either. Haven't been on the treadmill all weekend but have done lots of running around and going up and down the stairs putting decorations away. I think that should count!

Thursday, Jan. 7
Shivering and running to and from the car and a building is my exercise the past 2 days. Unbelievable cold and wind. No sweets either! As I'm thinking about this venture, I think it is will only work knowing that I am accountable to YOU! So thanks again for hanging in there with me.

Tuesday, Jan.5th
So, today was not so great. Had a lunch meeting but ate healthy. Tonight was a holiday social with all the goodies. The good thing was that I didn't drink! Didn't exercise today either. Back in the saddle tomorrow. Very cold here but sunny.

Day 2: Ate healthy today and walked on treadmill when I got home from work for 15 minutes. It's a start! So good to hear from many of you and some through email. It is encouraging and know each day is an opportunity. I think I may even get the weights out of the basement!

Here's the problem

Greetings to my family, friends and supporters,
Here's the problem....
In Nov. 08, I was diagnosed with a minor stroke and after a year and half of losing wight and getting into the best shape of my life, I have spiraled downward in health, weight and attitude. I have been thoughtfully preparing on how to regain the momentum and attitude needed to become healthy again and thought of combining several of my favorite things.

You are one of my favorite things! I love being on the computer and especially connecting with family and friends. If I am on the computer, I can't eat. And I can get off the computer and exercise when I am motivated after reading comments from you! I am not motivated by going to weight classes and paying big $$ for weight loss, going to gyms when they look at you as if you were a foreign terrorist for being overweight. So I am going begin by using this blog as a means of communicating my progress this year. Hopefully, you can support me by responding when you are available and feel moved to do so. Also, maybe it can motivate others to get onto a healthier path for years to come.

My mom always told people (when we were standing beside each other), "she's built like her Dad" and I was always very proud of that. The problem now is that my dad or uncles and aunts were never this big! My counsins can relate! A heart attack has already taken Bryon's life and affected others in our family, so I know this is a health issue...not a weight issue.

Join me and let's make it a great 2010!
